Here’s why Judge Geronda V. Carter is a KEEPER!

In 2006, when she was elected as the first African American Superior Court Judge by Clayton County citizens from all walks of life, she promised unbiased and impartial justice. She delivered.

She promised that justice would not depend on who you know or which organizations you belong to. She delivered.

She promised that justice would not depend on how much you paid or did not pay for legal representation. She delivered.

She promised to listen. She promised to show up. She promised to care. She promised experience that matters. She delivered.

SHE’S A KEEPER!

Judge Carter’s Parental Accountability Court (PAC) affords non-custodial parents the opportunity to avoid incarceration when they are faced with circumstances that cause them to fall behind on their child support obligations. PAC also puts them in a position to provide necessary resources to the custodial parent to foster a better co-parenting environment for the minor children served by the child support system.

Judge Carter’s hybrid court environment is mindful and all-inclusive, as she balances considering the needs of all of the participants who find themselves before the court.

Here’s how it works:

It’s your choice! For most non-jury civil and criminal hearings, you can decide how you will appear for court.

You can come in-person to the courthouse, or you can appear virtually from anywhere in the world, thereby decreasing the need for continuances, saving travel expenses, and avoiding lost wages.

Zoom technology with the ability to be seen and heard is all that is required.

Here’s what it does:

Offering virtual court saves money and resources and maintains safety related to inmate transportation from other jurisdictions;

Decreases attorney conflicts with court appearances;

Keeps litigants and citizens at work and saves them transportation time and costs; and

Improves the quality of life for everyone who is in a position to take advantage of virtual court.

There is so much more Judge Carter has done that improves the administration of justice. She has and continues to deliver what we expect and need from a judge. She kept her promises. We, the Committee to Re-elect Judge Geronda V. Carter, whole-heartedly support her mission to keep delivering on her promises. While the caseload has continued to grow due to an increase in crime and litigant disputes, Judge Geronda V. Carter has worked to diligently manage matters assigned to her division. She was innovative early on in providing alternative means for attorneys, parties, litigants, and witnesses to appear for court. She continues to institute measures driven to advance the administration of justice for all. Clayton County is blessed to have her. Clayton County, LET’S KEEP HER!
